Being a manager means you are constantly under review as you both command authority and work to increase productivity and profit margins, and if the methods you are employing are not working, you will need to be able to quickly change tracks and try something new.

Being a good listener can be just as important as being a good communicator. Listening to your employees will give you an insight into the inner workings of the workplace, and help you get to know who you are working with on a deeper level.
